Mr. Radboud Molijn had a 15 minute interview on the Dutch radio, subject “Will the Tokyo Olympics 2021 take place?” The direct reason for this talk was the resigning of Mr. Mori as President of the Tokyo Olympics. "If I were to make an estimated guess  my answer should be “no”, Radboud told the audience. With 80% of the Japanese population and 70% of the companies not in favour,  he told he would  be surprised if the games would take place, with or without spectators in the stadiums. "And … as it will be difficult to vaccinate a large part of the Japanese people before the start of the Olympics on July 23, why take the risk?"

Meanwhile the Dutch certainly do not qualify for a gold medal when it comes to vaccination speed: in the list of vaccinations per capita in Europe (34 countries), the Netherlands is # 31. Prime Minister Mark Rutte, here seen on his bike to attend a meeting of ministers to discuss the status of COVID-19 in this country, has been under fire for a sloppy response and too much discussion rather than action. Well-known examples are Uber, Airbnb...
